Shroom and Gloom Tools Hub
Specs, demo install, wishlist, and a paper deck planner.
This hub is the practical side of the wiki: can your PC run it, how do you install the demo, and how do you keep two decks lean once you are in a tunnel. Shroom and Gloom is a single-player Steam game for Windows and macOS from Team Lazerbeam and Devolver Digital. The full game is not out. Early Access is scheduled for 10 September 2026. The free demo is available now on Steam (app 3602770) and itch.io.
Open a child page instead of hunting store fine print:
- System requirements lists official Steam min/rec tables, Unity notes, motion-sickness warnings, and the unknown Steam Deck badge.
- Demo and wishlist covers Steam plus itch.io installs, the 26-tunnel demo loop, and wishlisting full game 3271280.
- Deck planner is a paper checklist for combat versus explore size, growth targets, frog-statue forgets, and energy curve.
- Linux and Proton covers unofficial Steam Deck / Proton reports. Official support is still Windows and macOS.
What these tools are not
There is no in-wiki calculator that simulates every card. The demo still changes, and Early Access will add The Facility plus extra classes. A fake interactive lab would go stale overnight. The deck planner is deliberately a checklist you can keep next to the game: grow this, forget that, stop adding shovels.
If you have not played yet, start with getting started and controls, then come back here to confirm disk space. Official full-game storage is 8 GB. Some demo store pages list about 9 GB. Leave room for both numbers so a Steam update does not fail mid-download.
Suggested order
- Check system requirements against your CPU, GPU, and RAM.
- Install the demo on Steam or itch.io and wishlist the full game.
- Learn the two-deck loop in how to play.
- After two failed runs, use the deck planner plus the card tier list instead of drafting every shiny roast.
The tools pages also catch facts people mix up. There are no redeem codes. There is no multiplayer. Steam currently lists English as the interface language even though Simplified Chinese was announced as a future localization. Those details belong next to install steps so you do not bounce between news posts during a download.
After you finish a demo run
If you reached The Gloom door with a mushroom key, log which Foresight you locked and which cards you frogged. That notebook is more useful than a third identical Paperboy start. Then read Early Access so you know what two pathways and five characters actually mean on 10 September.
Keep this hub bookmarked through the demo-to-EA window. Specs rarely move, but the demo build, wishlist count, and planner advice will. When Team Lazerbeam ships the paid build, the first thing to re-check is disk space and the second is whether your old grow list still matches the new card pool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Shroom and Gloom questions.
Do I need the full game to use these tools?
No. The demo is the playable build today. Use demo and wishlist to install it and wishlist Steam app 3271280.
Is there a live deck builder app on this wiki?
No. The deck planner is a checklist for lean decks, growth, and frog-statue forgets, not a JavaScript simulator.
Windows or macOS?
Both are listed on Steam. See the full tables on system requirements. Consoles have not been announced.
How much disk space should I free?
Steam lists 8 GB for the full game. Some demo pages list about 9 GB. Free at least 9 GB so either install can finish.
Is Shroom and Gloom multiplayer?
No. It is single-player only. These tools assume one player and one save.
